Bright
red is a colour which really can look spot on when finished,
you may have seen some old red cars starting to go a
pink or chalky shade, this is down to the oxidisation
feeding from the paints oils. If the car is clay bar
treated first this will remove this oxidisation but
then a coat of paint cleanser is added to bring back
the colour and depth before the whole paintwork is sealed
with a thick coat of carnauba. Unfortunatly most people
just wax over the unprepared paint and seal the oxidisation
in which can no longer breathe out so feeds from the
oils in the paint thus sending it pink.
